Vault Records came to us with a debut vinyl release and a vision. We developed a raw, textured visual language that bridges analogue nostalgia with contemporary graphic edge.

The Brief

Vault Records was preparing to release their debut vinyl compilation — a collection of underground electronic artists recorded live across three cities. The label had a sound but no image. They needed an art direction and packaging system that could live on a shelf, a screen, and a stage backdrop with equal



The Outcome


The debut pressing of 500 units sold out in 72 hours. The campaign imagery was picked up by three independent music publications and shared widely within the electronic music community. Vault Records went on to commission Kaniyan Studio for their next two releases, and the visual system we built became the foundation of their ongoing identity.

User retention at the 30-day mark increased by 41% following the redesign. The onboarding completion rate rose from 54% to 83%. Prism Health closed a Series A round six weeks after launch, with investors specifically highlighting the product experience as a differentiator in a crowded space.

Our Approach

We treated the release as an artefact first, a product second. Research pulled from industrial archive photography, circuit board topography, and 1970s Soviet science publications. The visual language we developed is deliberately textured and process-heavy — screen-printed covers, exposed registration marks, a monochrome palette broken only by a single high-voltage accent. Typography was set in a modified grotesque with manual distressing applied across every format.
